Covington - Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Coonse Hagley, age 95, of Covington, who died at 1:40 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, in the Small Nursing Home in Waynetown, were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home here. Mrs. Hagley had been a patient in the nursing home for 12 years. She was born in Covington on April 6, 1876, the daughter of Elijah and Elizabeth Ballah Holycross. She was married on Sept. 8, 1898 to Joseph Coonse, who preceded her in death Nov. 19, 1934. On Jan. 9. 1940, she was married to William Hagley and he survives. Surviving in addition to the husband, who is a resident at the Fountain County Home, north of Covington, are; two sons, Lewis of Tilton, Ill., and Wilbur of the state of Washington; one sister, Mrs. Cynthia Jones of Danville, Ill.; 20 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, three daughters, two sisters and four brothers. The Rev. Edgar Allen, pastor of the First Assembly of God church, officiated and burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery. -- br
